31 down, 9 to go

Belly update time...

The book says the Little One should be about 16 inches long and weigh 3.5 lbs with ears that are developed enough to recognize familiar sounds. Linds hasn't been noticing many changes herself, maybe just a little more (and stronger) moving and kicking... and she's starting to lose her ankles by the end of each day.

9 weeks to go... wow!

Christmas in January

Linds' family made the trek from OH and NY for a belated Christmas celebration last week. The bitter cold and the old man's back (that'd be me, not Bob!) kept us close to home, but it was good to just relax for a few days and have everyone all in one place.

Calling all Gopher fans... the Little One was absolutely showered with OSU gear at Christmas. I'm off to Gold Corner. See you there!

On Dasher, on Dancer...

About 4-5 inches of snow were dumped on Minneapolis today, with more on the way this evening. The weekly high is projected to be 1 degree, with a low of -16. Not a ton of fun for a guy with a rehab program calling for 3-4 walks daily.

At least G & M don't seem to mind...

R.I.P.

A slow news week here with Linds back in the swing of things at work and me being incredibly unproductive (hey, doc's orders!) in my last days of winter break.

After an 8 years, 110,000 miles and Lord knows how many dollars in repairs, Ol' Faithful (my '96 Nissan Sentra) was laid to rest so to speak and donated to charity. I thought those of you familiar with my her would get a kick out of this Thank You note.

I guess we won't worry about writing this one off!

27 down, 13 to go

Belly update time.

The book says the Little One is about the size of a head of cauliflower, weighs over 2 pounds and has functioning eyelids. Yikes!

Unfortunately for Mom, the LO's size and position mean routine heartburn (even after a couple bites of toast!) and very sore ribs from, and I'm quoting the book here, "the baby kicking and punching the area". Looks like we've got a fighter on the way...

The nesting begins

Among a million other things Mom and La helped Linds and I with over the past two weeks, the most exciting was making the trip to Babies-R-Us and the like and settling on nursery furniture, "theme", rugs, decor and of course... paint color.
Thank you guys so much! We miss your help already... oh, and we miss being with you too! :-)

Practice makes perfect

The holiday season sure brought out the babies...

L-R: Godfather Ryan and Godson/cousin Tanner (in the 100 y/o Backer family baptismal gown), Baby Graham and mom Sarah (visiting MN for the holidays), Baby Luca (playing the role of Therapy Child, cheering up bedridden "uncle" Ryan).

"Christmas" cubed

Christmas was a bit odd this year... the end of Christmas at "home" in Fairmont, no visit from the Maxwells (postponed 'til January), Linds eating for two, La bringing an "and guest", the kick-off of the alternating holiday rule and lastly me being relegated to my bed 90% of the time (doc's orders). That said, as always... it was darn good to get everyone all under one roof!

As for the collage, we've got (clockwise) the end of Xmas presents for me, Lia Sophia for all, Uncle Ozzie and Aunt Donna, our Christmas miracle (3 still dogs) and round 10 of foreign object removal from "cousin" Carter. Not pictured: Dad/Tom (hey, at least that tradition is still in place!)
