14 months

EJB turned 14 months yesterday. Here's the monthly update...

A few of Evie's latest tricks include:
  • New signs... "go to sleep", "book"
  • New words... "cheeeeeese", "Tosh" (for Tosha, her daycare teacher), "down"
  • Undressing herself... we've woken up to PJ-less baby several of the past few mornings
  • Answering, "How old is Evie?"
A few of Evie's latest favorite things include:
  • Reading books (a least 15x/day, usually consecutively, E will grab a book and plop down in one of our laps)
  • Cleaning everything in sight with paper towels
  • Riding the fire truck and hitting it's siren buttons at daycare

20 down, 20 to go

Belly update time...

Linds definitely has enough of a bump now that strangers take notice and her wardrobe has officially gone "maternity". Thankfully, morning sickness is now officially a thing of the past and aside from a little fatigue... Mom is feeling pretty comfortable.

As for TSO (The Second One), the doc issued a clean bill of health at this week's check-up and ultrasound... with 4 moving limbs, 10 fingers and toes, and a healthily beating heart. The book says TSO should be about 10 inches / 10 ounces and already practicing things like breathing and swallowing.

Things are moving right along!

PHL

I made my first trip to Philadelphia this week, which unfortunately was more work than pleasure... but I did get a chance to sneak out and explore briefly last night.

I must say, I didn't necessarily experience any "brotherly love" walking up and down South Street (quite the opposite, actually), but the neighborhood certainly had hip buzz about it. In few hours I escaped I was able to take in some Philly classics: Penn's Landing, cheesesteaks at Jim's Steaks, water ice (think slurpee) at Rita's, and watching a spray paint street artist (click here to see a clip on youtube to get the idea).

I'm packing up and about to head home, L & E... I miss you guys!

The great outdoors

Uncle Doug treated Linds, Dad and I to our first Twins game at Target Field last Saturday (vs. Milwaukee's "Brew Crew"). The home team won a grueling, five-hour game in 12 innings (8-7, GW sac fly by Jason Kubel).

Thanks for the tickets, Doug! What a game...

Fun in the sun

Spring finally returned to Minnesota this past weekend, so the fam' took full advantage... kid parks, dog parks, yard work, water toys and even a late backyard Cinco de Mayo party with the Beermans.

Looking forward to many more like this...

Lefty?

In recent weeks, EJB has been experimenting with utensils at the dinner table. Supposedly the child's preference when using spoons and forks is a good indicator of handedness.

Evie (of course) stabs and loads the fork with her right... but is then quick to remove the food with her left, finishing the job by hand.

I guess we won't run off to buy golf clubs just yet...
