Little green thumbs

Grandpa Bob found some cheap labor this weekend, inviting E & S down to help plant some flowers, herbs and vegetables in his brand new, raised garden bed.

Aside from gardening skills, G'pa Bob will be teaching the girls patience this summer... as no less than 15 times daily since planting they've been asking if the veggies are ready to eat yet.

Mother's Day

Sure, Linds had to spend her third Mother's Day driving around MN and sharing the attention with a couple other (grand) mothers... but she did at least get some pretty precious, priceless gifts from her girls.

Cape Town, South Africa

SPECIAL EDITION BLOG POST… it’s “the Mrs.” here, with rare permission to log in and type up an entry.

As I’m sure you’re aware from Ryan’s complaining, last week I spent eight days (editor’s note: it felt like 15!) in Cape Town, South Africa.  While I did sneak in some fun, the purpose of the trip was business… shooting a series of Chex Mix commercials for the General.  The trip was great professional experience and experiencing SA was great fun, but being away from my girls for so long was rough (editor’s note: nice, Linds, missed you too!).

Pictured above…
  • My ad guy, Jack Plotnik (our Chex Mix star actor) and I.
  • A foggy view from Table Top Mountain, a Seven Natural Wonders of the World nominee.
  • False Bay, home of the world’s largest Great White Shark population (editor’s note: In fact, earlier in the week a body boarder was attacked and killed, making international news).
  • “Wild” Penguins, “wild” as hundreds of these characters are actually protected in a preserve, but this little guy found a drainpipe and was making his way to the freedom.
  • Cape of Good Hope, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet, and the only spot in the world where tuna can be caught from shore (as the ocean instantly drops hundreds of feet).

Mr. Mom

With Linds in Africa for nine days, Dad's got to be extra creative to keep the princesses entertained.

Some activities have been rather peaceful, like Friday night's tea party.  On the other hand, some have been so wildly destructive and messy... we've just been doing them in the tub!

Hurry home, Momma!
