A life aquatic

On Sunday, Sawyer decided to take an early nap and Evie capitalized, sneaking in a trip to Fairmont’s Aquatic Park for some rare one-on-one time with with Auntie La (and Uncle Joe).

FFD

While in back in his old stomping ground, Grandpa treated E & S to a trip to the fire hall to explore the fleet of Fairmont’s bravest… and Joe treated us all to a little rookie hose hazing.

Popcorn

As if tearing apart and taking over every room in Nana’s house wasn’t enough, E & S began to invade on the neighbor’s turf, sneaking off to their swing set and trampoline whenever they got the chance.

(Not-So) Big Island

Hall Lake is no Minnetonka, but on Saturday we treated it as such, renting a pontoon and finding a sand bar to anchor into and enjoy a sunny afternoon on/in the water.

Tri-umph

In what’s quickly becoming an annual tradition, Fairmont’s Liz Gomez Sprint Triathlon drew the crew back home to run, bike and swim our hearts out.

This year's race was particularly challenging due to high temperatures, thick humidity, gusty winds... and the addition of the "toddler pull" to the race's final 100 yards.

13.1

Linds vowed to get back to road racing in 2012 and signed up for the Minneapolis Half Marathon shortly after the New Year.  And, on this warm spring morning, she knocked out the 13.1 miles along the Mississippi in "a little over" two hours.

Park season

The gorgeous weekend weather has meant a lot of time at the park these days.

With Evs, it's amazing to see the "leaps and bounds" gains in strength and balance that occurred while the playgrounds were hibernating for five or six months.  With Sawyer, it's frightening to see the courage she has from watching her big sis'!

Where's Waldo?

E & S stranded their (former fire-fighting) Grandpa Tom in Edinborough Park's four-story jungle gym.  Shown above is a full view of this monster of a park, and Evie yelling for someone to come help get Grandpa down!
