HBD, LMB!

Another year in the books for LMB.  This year's celebration included the traditional breakfast in bed (with 6am help from sous chefs, Evie & Sawyer), a Hibachi dinner and a cherry Dilly Bar night cap.

S, on the other hand, is in quite the imaginative phase… and no outfit is complete these days without a princess dress/skirt or a pair of wings.  This includes her gymnastics "leo".

E's been taking a major interest in reading lately… and her favorite story time pal is definitely Big G.

Wynwood Walls

Hear me out here, but I just spent a couple days in Miami, FL… touring the city's toughest neighborhoods by foot… studying graphitti… in an attempt to predict the future… for work.   

It's a long story, best told live… but my money says we'll all be seeing more space/alien and Native American influence on consumer goods from food to cars to clothing in 2014 and 2015… and, not only will orange be the new black, but so will radiant purples.  

Just you watch.

Snownami

Not the greatest picture, and not the greatest weather, but definitely captured one of the classic moments of a Minnesotan's childhood... school closures, 32 degree blizzards and soaking through layers of gear playing for hours in those giant, sticky snowflaked storms. 

Bluefin Bay 2014

As we've done for the past five or six years, our tremendous (Backer/Furber/McNerney) trio hit the northwoods for a President's Day weekend escape from big city life… this year at Bluefin Bay in Tofte, MN.

And, as usual, we enjoyed wonderful food, gorgeous scenery, probably too much beer… and downright good company.

Some of our more memorable stops along the way were the Canal Park Brewery, the Castle Danger Brewery, Fitger's Brewery, the Gunflint Tavern, the Pickled Herring  (see what I was saying about the too much beer thing!), Two Harbors Curling Club, the Sugarbush XC Trails… and that wonderful outdoor hot tub overlooking frozen Lake Superior.

V-Day

For Valentine's Day this year, I finally got around to having our wedding video converted to from the archaic camcorder mini-disc to a readable format and shared it with Linds and the girls on the morning of the 14th.  Fun to relive those memories…

Maple Maze

We're slowly but surely finding gems in our new stomping ground, and Maple Maze (and all that surrounds it) is quickly becoming on of the girls' favorites… especially as we're discovering it's also a common destination for a few of their old HELC pals, like Hallie (E's Honeybee Room BFF).

Kid Rock
