"Pool" party

Liesl hosted a "pool" party for the family NCAA tournament "pool" participants at in her new apartment's community center off near downtown Minneapolis.  The kids had a blast playing foosball, ping pong, water basketball and swimming while the adults took in the games on the big screen.

Swanky digs, Lies... thanks for hosting!

What happens in Scottsdale...

Linds, Sam and Joelle, and a few of their girlfriends skipped town for a long weekend in the dessert.  Here's the crew, and the only documentation from their weekend.

March Madness

MN's March is typically shows flashes of all four seasons, and often over a 3-4 day period.  On the 5th this year, temps soared to the high 60s.  We soaked it in with a cousins trip to Maple Grove's newest outdoor recreational center, Central Park.

LOL

Speak Out was one of this holiday season's hot games, and I've never played one that's funnier.  The novelty wears off after a few uses, but you'll belly laugh uncontrollably your first time.  Especially, if you play with your kids!

The game is straightforward.  Simply get your team to guess the phrases written on your card... and you can read the phrases as written.  The wrinkle is that you must do so while wearing a dental cheek retractor!

Cheers Pablo

The Paint Pub is a new-ish phenomenon where artists teach classrooms of novices to paint what look to be pretty difficult works of art... with an open bar to loosen up the creative spirit.  Out little artists have long wanted to do this (after seeing a piece I created years ago), and we finally found a shop that allows minors!

The painting of the evening was Northern Lights.

Pacer Hall of Fame

Our little speedster (S) has held the #1 or #2 spot for kindergarteners on the schools "wall of fame" after each pacer run.  Also known as Miss Competitive, she knows the dates of all the upcoming races, rolls her eyes when hearing the name of her arch rival (I'm afraid to write his name here), and literally loses sleep the nights before race day with nerves and mentally strategizing (last months she said she laid in bed thinking about how she needs to start slower to have more energy at the end).

Not to be outdone, E cracked the top 20 and made the Hall this month as well!  Make no mistake she's got a competitive gene too, but it's far more inward focused (and, definitely heats up with her sister).

MN Hoops

Within a 10 day span, we the men's and women's Gopher basketball teams, and the Timberwolves live... and three MN victories!  The U's men and the Wolves showed a lot of promise this year, and look to (finally) be on the up and up.  The women, per usual, continue to have a strong program.
