BDO IX

The year's Gopher Football Boys Day Out was unseasonably warm and started with uncharacteristically dominate performance (over Nebraska, of all teams) by the U.  We won 54-21.  Yes, 54-21.  We closed down the night, per usual, throwing stones on Bryant Lake Bowl and grabbing a slice in Uptown (Galactic, this year).  In between, we hit up an Irish Bar we were too old for in Dinkytown, and played a few games of shuffeboard at the Herkimer.  We were in Ubers by 10pm and had just a mild headache during the Vikings game the next afternoon.  You might say we're growing up a bit?

VB VIPs

My new boss was a former Gopher VB superstar who has courtside seat at the Pavilion... and offered them up to me a few weeks ago.  I took her up on it for the U of M vs OSU match-up, bringing E as my date, and watch the home team take down the Buckeyes 3-0.

Nana & Greg happened to be in the area and grabbed a couple seats last minute as well... and photobombed E's pic with Goldy!

Lean Startup

I attended Lean Startup Week at the historic Warfield Theatre in San Francisco to hear the latest and greatest in the experimentation and innovation from entrepreneurial thought leaders like Eric Ries and Alex Osterwalder.

Not much free time to explore the city, but I did cut away one morning to check out Dottie's True Blue Cafe, a reco from my world-traveling, culture-studying friend, Mikel Cirkus (and also a featured destination on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives).  I had the pulled pork scramble with corn bread and jalapeno jelly.
