San Diego

We broke tradition this year, heading west to sunny San Diego for MEA vs our usual "fall colors" Midwest road trip to Duluth/LaCrosse... and it'll be hard to go back.

The weather was gorgeous, the beaches refreshing, and our VRBO spectacular.  Here were the highlights...

• Taking in the sunset and sea lions at Children's Beach 
• The panda, koalas and leopard at the San Diego Zoo 
• Catching waves, running the boardwalk, shelling and tossing the pigskin on Mission Beach 
• Watching the Vikings whip the Jets with kindred spirits at the local Vikings bar (Guava Beach Club)
• Kayaking the caves at La Jolla Shores
• Zipping around the city on the Lime and Bird electric scooters
• Watching Roman and Alex play themselves to sleep, keeping up with the big kids without naps and internally still on CST
• Hours & hours of poolside fun at our VRBO on Vue Du Bay Court, overlooking PB and greater San Diego

SRB's 8th

Sawyer celebrated her 8th with breakfast in bed, a two-hour sports fest (basketball skills challenges, a punt, pass and kick competition and a couple innings of kickball) with her friends at Gleason Park, ice cream cake, wings & pizza for dinner.  I may have had more fun than she did!

Trojan Football

We try to take in some WHS Friday Night Lights action each fall, but this year we actually had a neighbor friend on the field to cheer for (Hasan Madkour, LG).  The Trojans beat Eastview 17-14 late in the fourth on a rainy, chilly fall night.
