July 3-on-3
In July's session of Midwest 3-on-3, E & S formed their own teams, and wound up in the same division. I won't tell you who won when they played one another... but I will say that I've never seen them play harder!
State Softball
Evie's 10U team played their two best games of the season at the Tier 6 State Tournament in White Bear Lake, going 3-2 on the weekend, falling a few rounds short of hardware.
E had her hardest/furthest hit of the season, finding a gap in right center for a double and made some heady plays in the field.
One more tournament to go... Nationals (conveniently located in the eastern suburbs)!

10U State Qualifier
E's 10U Blue squad stole the one game they needed to qualify for State during a grueling, incredibly hot and humid July weekend of games. To celebrate, after our final game wrapped at 9pm, E & I jumped in the closest lake we could find... in full uniform!
Groupies
LOL'd when coming home to this scene... S, playing the intro to Under Pressure to superfans Cade & Jack.
Ranger Baseball
Sawyer's Rangers were the Bad News Bears of the 2019 PWYSA House season. After coming to grips with this, and after realizing that next year's re-zoning her new school will be taking with it several of the league's best players (including her buddies on the Twins, Jack & Thomas), she was able to relax and enjoy the ride.
S swung for the fences all season long, so, like most HR hitters, either blasted the ball over the outfielders heads... or rode a strike out slump. More fun than watching her swing though was seeing her try to turn every ball she got her hands on into a double play.
Rabbit Lake
E, S & I got the invite from the McBeths to join them for a mom-free cabin weekend on Rabbit Lake.
We tubed and played yard games when the weather cooperated... and hit the local "auditorium", a former fire department/library/city hall building, for some hoops when it did not. And, for single parenting all weekend, Daryn and I treated ourselves to a few cold ones at the local tap house, Cuyuna Brewing.
