Duluth

This year's end of summer getaway was to an old favorite, Duluth.  It's been two years since we've last been, and the girls were excited to return.

One the way up, Tobie's for donuts, a Jay Cooke hike to work them off and Spirit Mountain's Alpine Coaster to wake back up on our way up.  "Putzing around" (a phrase I use "all the time" that I now know makes E think I'm "lame and old") Canal Park, drinks and Scategories at Vikre, relaxing in the Radisson hot tub and washing it all down dessert at Love Creamery to wrap up day one.  Then breakfast at Amazing Grace, climbing the falls Chester Park, a Cajun Finn at Northern Waters Smokehouse and some friendly competition at Adventure Zone before hoping on I-35 to head back home.

I so LOVE our family road trip escapes before and after the storm of each school "season".

Vertical Endeavors

E, S & her buddy Jack dominated Vertical Endeavors and a whole Black Sheep Pizza one cool, rainy August afternoon.

Ninja Warrior

Sawyer and her buddy Cade had a blast at Ninja Warrior camp.  S won a pull-up challenge on the final day and got a free month trial at a Ninja Warrior training gym!

Title IX

And with the first pick in the 2019 Title IX draft, Hoosier Daddy selects... Patrick Mahomes (and the green room goes wild).

Tweens

E & her BFFs at a Kaja's birthday looking way... too... old.

Minnesota State Fair

This year's end-of-summer schedule didn't leave much time for a State Fair run, but the girls insisted we find a way.  So, during a 3.5 hour free window we zipped over, stuffed our faces, hit a few rides, played a few games... and raced back home.

This year's favorite food winners were new experiments for us... the strawberry & Nutella crepe (for E & I) and the Sweet Colorado Peach (for S).  If you know Linds, you know there's no competition for hers... the Wisconsin Cheese Curd.

Martin County Fair

Fairmont, fair fun and fruit pizza... not a bad day trip!
