Trojan Madness
Great turnout at the inaugural Trojan Madness hype fest to kick off the WGBA and girls varsity seasons. The only complaint heard throughout the night was the officiating...
5A @ Rochester
Sawyer's crew knocked off tough Hopkins and Lakeville North teams (and AAU DTB teammates) before running into a tough Lakeville South squad in the championship falling just short again in tourney #2.
But, like with E's team, a blast of a weekend long slumber party with her basketball friends.
7A @ Rochester
Evie's 7A team played up in the 8A bracket at Rochester and battled their way to a championship with two memorable come-from-behind wins vs. Lakeville North and Orono (alongside a route of Austin).
Fun to level up and have that kind of success... and even more so to see the girls enjoy a hotel weekend with their winter besties.

The Trick Shot Artist
Not much time passes in this house without the sounds of dice being stacked or bottles being flipped. And, I think we've learned that when it has been quiet, the artist was working on editing this highlight reel of her greatest hits of 2021!
5A @ OMGBAA
Sawyer & company started the season with with an up & coming rival in OMGBAA, neighbors to the west in STMA... and the one and only team they've never beaten (Farview).
S picked up where she left off last year a vocal leader who pours herself into her defensive assignment and rewards her teammates who get out and up on the break (or make the cut in the half-court). And, nobody works harder... nor has anyone ever beat her to the gym. :-)
Looking forward to seeing this team grow this season!
7A @ OMGBAA
E made Wayzata's top 7th grade team this year, a lofty goal she's been working unbelievably hard toward since 3rd grade. She may be the shortest and slightest, but the kid works, has great "hoopsIQ" and can knock it down.
The only thing that felt better than watching her receive the news that she made the team from Coach Paul in late September was seeing her "I belong" confidence-boosting moment in her first game where she came out going 3-for-3 from three and dropping a floater in her first 3 minutes on the floor with WGBA's 7A crew (and with her new spring AAU coach in the crowd)!
The team went 3-0 in their opening tourney at Maple Grove's 7A bracket.
This is going to be a fun season!
Halloween
The pre-teens Evie & Anni with classic low-effort costumes to get easy candy access, and S and her buddy Jack as Jolly Ranchers.
Our first year with mom & dad staying home and sending the kiddos free into the night.
And, before the big night out, S played in (and won) a festive MBT 3on3 tourney... dressed as candy corn.
