E & S took advantage of a rare opportunity to work their "microskills" with Pure Sweat's Drew Haney, a socially popular trainer to the NBA stars, including this year's MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid. 

Minnesota Madness

E & S took in their first MN State Girls (Varsity) Tourney, ate up the hype... and eagerly await their turn down the road. 

Mara Braun, the local U of M-bound hero, and her Wayzata teammates fell short in the Section finals vs. Hopkins (who went on to win the 4A title), but there were plenty of other teams, superstars (Olivia Olson, Maddyn Greenway, Tessa Johnson, Ellie Colbeck, etc.) and storylines that were fun to watch up-close-and-personal at Williams Arena over the course of the weekend. 

Oh, and I even made the Star Tribune's photo of Providence/Maddyn Greenway!

DTB T-Wolves Experience

Sawyer's new AAU club kicked off their season with some team-building at and around the Target Center with an afternoon on-court scrimmage vs. Hudson BSB, an escape room and dinner downtown after, and an evening with Steph Curry's Warriors vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves (including some temporary courtside access during the pre-game).

Title IX Catch-Up

The McBackFur crew doubled down and celebrated the 2020 and 2021 Title IX fantasy football winners (McDizzle & Hoosier Daddy) with a night at O'Shaughnessy Distillery and Owamni. 

The last time this crew was together was celebrating the 2019 winner the night before the world shut down in March of 2020.

7A State Champions

1st place out of a field of 128 isn't too shabby. More impressive, this team has won 5 consecutive state titles and has just one (same grade) loss since travel basketball commenced in 3rd grade. You won't find a group of harder working, more selfless, humbly confident girls on the planet.

Honored to be a part of the coaching staff, and grateful Evie earned the opportunity to be a part of this special T-E-A-M.

Congrats on a job well done, ladies. 

E, we couldn't be more proud of you effort to get here and the work you did to find you role and help this team achieve, most notably with your hoops IQ, running the floor, and floating to spots ready to knock down dagger jumpers from deep.

5A State 3rd Place, Tier One

Sawyer's squad ended their season with a 3rd place finish, after a semifinal loss to Farview (and win in vs. Lakeville North). The season went about "as expected", splitting games with the top few teams in the league and never quite figuring out the champs (FV). There's more in their tank and the ceiling is higher... they'll get there!

Sawyer elevated her leadership in many ways this season, including making progress staying "mentally tough" when things went awry. She was the team leader in points, assists, rebounds, FTAs, 3-point percentage, and effort... yet humbly played in a way that made people around her better and kept everyone involved. You won't find a better teammate.
