DTB @ Summer Jam

And, Sawyer's squad wrapped their season up as well at NT's Summer Jam, going 2-2 and ending the event with a lopsided 'W' over Metro Stars.

DTB's inaugural season definitely drew some attention. Can't wait to see what 2023 holds?!?

MN Stars @ Summer Jam

E's Stars team ended its 2022 season in Bloomington at North Tartan's Summer Jam.

Fun crew, fun finale. 

Here's to running it back next year!

DTB @ Midwest Girls Classic

Sawyer's squad took Ames and had a helluva run at the Midwest Girls Classic while playing in the gorgeous All-Iowa Attack fieldhouse. The team knocked off The City, battled with Martin Brothers, lost to AIA Red (the eventual champs, and lost by the narrowest margin of all Red's games), then won a "bucket list" revenge game finale against AIA Black.

But, it's the water park, hibachi dance-offs, and hotel tag that they'll remember.

Fun weekend, fun group of girls.

MN Stars @ BTYF

AAU can be a pretty cold money-grab at times, and never more apparent than when tourney coordinators refuse to put thought into tiering and seeding. E's squad went 4-0 and won the Wisconsin Playmakers' Ball 'Til You Fall event with an average margin of victory of nearly 40 points/game, including two games called early.

Ugh. But, this tourney was to be about and overnight get-away and team-building and the girls (and parents) did just that. Duckpin bowling, ice cream, hide-and-seek at the Altoona Walmart and hotel sillies.

MN Stars @ Summer Kickoff

E's squad had a solid showing at the AAU Summer Kickoff, knocking off the state's top, and star-studded 2028 team. Yes, a younger team, but a really nice win for the E and team.

12U Gold @ Wayzata Warmup

Wayzata's 12U Gold unit had a nice showing on their home turf during the annual Wayzata Warmup. E & S both rode slumps at the plate, but helped their teams defensively with some key put-outs in several games.

E & her 7th grade spring concert...

Last day of school

One more in the books. E celebrated her last day with Dunkin' before school and a pool party at Harper's after... and S with Gracyn and a bike ride to school and to HyVee for Starbucks after.

What were your favorite things about 5th grade/7th grade?

E: Ummmm.... I have no idea.

S: The end of year party. Yard games and slushies.

What will you miss most about 5th grade/7th grade?

E: Hmmmmmm.... friends. I don't know. Some of them are moving.

S: The teacher. Mr. Sullwold.

What won't you miss about 5th grade/7th grade?

E: Homework. We had like 400 pages each day.

S: Social Studies. Cuz its borning.

Memorial Day in Fairmont

Wind, COVID, dead batteries, delayed boat/dock deliveries, Aquatic Park closures (no lifeguards 'til after school is out), oh my... but, still had a fun weekend "back home" and away from the hustle & bustle of the Metro.

DTB 2029 @ State Tourney

Sawyer's DTB squad took 7th in Tier 1 at the AAU State Championship tournament. Also not bad, not great... but, solid work against a tough draw.

Sawyer had a memorable game one, going 3 for 3 from the 3-point line against several of her school ball teammates.

E's Stars squad took 11th in Tier 1 at the 2022 AAU State Championship event. Not bad, not great... but, a fun weekend of hoops.

The highlight was most likely having the #5 seed E1T1 on the ropes for 80% of that opening round game. So close!

12U Gold @ Waite Park

The highlight of most youth sports seasons tends to be that one overnight, "team building" hotel weekend... and looks like E & S's 12U Gold team will be no different. 

They won some, lost some on the field... but all that was secondary to pool, volleyball, hotel hide & seek and all the shenanigans in-between at St. Cloud's "mega" Holiday Inn.
