DTB @ Spring Showcase (Ankeny, IA)

DTB took to Ankeny, IA to litmus test their game vs. a series of All-Iowa Attack teams, and 100% showed up to play. The team went 4-1, and had the state's top team on the ropes (up 14 early) before the wheels fell off the bus in the second half.

But, this trip was all about team-building, so the pool, hotel, restaurant and carpooled road trip and the impact on team comfort, trust and communication was where it was at. Great group of parents as well.

 Can't wait for Iowa trip #2 later in the season already!

MN Stars @ Spring Showdown (Bloomington, MN)

2-2 at tourney #2 for MN Stars 2. E had a "breakout game" on opening night though, knocking down 5 of 6 threes and lead the tourney in scoring!

Track Star

E, retired from softball, stumbled into track this spring... partially (maybe fully) forced by her parents.

While she won't admit she enjoys it, she sure looks the part!

DTB @ Midwest Kickoff (Bloomington, MN)

Sawyer's AAU season began with a few hiccups as well, falling into too big a hole vs. NT Elite and running into a tough MN Rise team who was more willing to get physical. 

It's early... and is this will be a team to watch this season, I'm certain!

MN Stars @ Midwest Kickoff (Bloomington, MN)

E's AAU season began with "silver medal" in Bloomington at the Midwest Kickoff. Three returning players, and seven new faces... so, some chemistry issues to clean up. 

Good kids, good players. Looking forward to the season!

Priceless few and far between time with our oldest, bestest friends...

Celebrating Suz's and Linds' regular season and Super Bowl fantasy championships, respectively, at Royal Foundry, La Dona and the Butcher's Tale.

Hawaii Spring Break | Day 7

Day seven highlights...

• another balcony breakfast
• whale watching catamaran tour (followed a mom, baby and escort around for nearly an hour) 
• final poolside day before heading to airport
• walking downtown Lahaina (including dinner at Lahaina Pizza Company)

Lowlight...

• the 10+ hours of flights to get home, including a 5 hour layover in SEA (!)

Day six highlights...

• early morning meet up in Kehei (where White Lotus S1 was filmed) with the Dwyers
• snorkeling at Molokini island
• chill day at the Dwyer's resort 

Hawaii Spring Break | Day 5

Day five highlights...

• fresh fruit and muffins on the our hotel room balcony
• more pool & beach time (can't get enough)
• pre-workout fuel at Kamala’s Kitchen pizza truck
• surfing lessons with Kain at mile marker 12.5 beach (the most serene scene of the trip, waiting for the sets while overlooking the shoreline and green mountainous backdrop)
• room service for & Japengo sushi take-out (while watching Office & Modern Family re-runs)

Hawaii Spring Break | Day 4

Day four highlights...

• sunrise workout, this time shooting hoops
• on-premise breakfast (the Hawaii Coffee Company's rolls, muffins, croissants and açaí bowls were a hit, and became the breakfast staple the rest of the trip)
• started the Road to Hana to hike and swim Twin Falls' three (?) waterfalls
• new best lunch ever at the Paia Fish Market (blackened mahi mahi & cajun ahi were ridic)
• first (and last, it turned out) shave ice of the trip at Ululanis 
• pit stop for fresh fruit at a roadside farmer's market
• glass blowing private class at Moana Glass

Lowlights...

• the Drums of the Pacific luau (Linds loved it... the others, not so much)
