Spotted in and around our backyard in 2023...
New this year was a weasel (ran over my shoes).
Still not photographed, now 10 years in, but heard and spotted, are the coyote and owl.

E & company defeated EP's 9A and JV teams.
Fun to play against old AAU teammates Lauren Santy and Nesa Namjoshi!
220+ WGBA and WHS GBB players and families watched alum Annika Stewart's Huskers / Mara Braun's Gophers nail-biter at the Barn.
Amaya Battle's 3 with seconds remaining sealed it for the home team.
Boys trip to WRSP on a snow mid-week day in January, and had the park all to ourselves.
A guy could get used to this...
E's HS squad meets weekly for "carb-ups" the night before games to bond and fuel up for the day ahead...
Down goes Sawyer (0:30 into game #2), and down goes Wayzata. A tough sprain will have her sidelined for a few weeks. But, she'll be back!
After handling Rosemount, Maple Grove finally got their elusive win vs this Wayzata squad after, literally, probably 20 attempts.
But, the team rallied to win a nail-biter vs. biter rival Lakeville South with Sawyer rooting the team on from the side, and in front of a packed home crowd late Sunday night.
Clean sweep of Anoka for Wayzata's 9A, 10th, JV and Varsity squads.
E had a "breakout" game with the JV offensively... going 3-4 from 3 and 4-5 from the 2 for 17 points!
Well, that was quick.
18 months after starting a new chapter with Nestle, I've logged my final hour with the world's largest CPG. Perhaps my favorite job of my 25 year career. Perhaps the most impact I've had on a company in such a small window (my team produced Nestle's top story of 2023 with over 600M impressions, we enabled $100s of millions of projected revenue from new product ideas, nurtured relationships with game-changing partners in emerging spaces like Food as Medicine, etc.).
Definitely the coolest view (Georgetown and the National Mall on the horizon from my 30th floor office when on the road at HQ in Arlington).
But, the work/life balance front was not sustainable... and, life trumps work. Period.
TBD what's next. I'm in no hurry.
Thank you for the memories, Doug & Co. I'll miss Team Nestle dearly.
Goofy travel schedules had us celebrating Christmas with Nana & Greg on New Year's Day.
Goofy weather had us scrambling for creative new ideas for fun (with no ice or snow this unseasonably warm winter), like pickleball at Mega Pickle in Minnetonka.
Goofy children had the house buzzing until way past bedtimes!
E & company knocked off Lakeville North at the College of St. Ben's at the Granite City Classic.
Some great varsity games over there too, most notably Providence Academy (Maddyn Greenway) vs. Hopkins (Liv McGill).
