Cabo San Lucas | Day 7

Sunrise paddle-boarding in the Sea of Cortez from Medano Beach to Lover's Beach (that's Mount Solmar in the background, BTW, the "mountain" we hiked a few days earlier). Easily the trip's highlight, especially once we were joined by a trio of seals.

More Doce Cuartena pastries and coffee after, then off to the Marina for a swim with dolphins (like, literally under water and into the air).

Lunch at Taqueria El Paisa (tacos, of course).

Swim-up bar Pina Coladas back at the resort. Ocean, pool, ocean, spa, pool, ocean... you get it by now. ;-)

And, for our "last supper" one final authentic Mexican dinner at Los Tres Gallos, washed down with one more round of gelato from the corner store near Corazon.

We'll be back, Cabo. We'll be back.

Cabo San Lucas | Day 6

Early morning hike of Mount Solmar with Enrique and his deterrent dogs. Gorgeous views of the Pacific, Sea of Cortez and Cabo shoreline.

Obligatory Starbucks stop on walk home after the girls heard there was one in the city.

Another pool & beach afternoon... this is what we came for, after all.

Discovered an urban food court with a local bakery / coffee shop with called Doce Cuarenta, which then became a daily stop, at least once, for the remainder of the trip (vanilla cold press was the bomb, and the and choco-PB chilled brownie might be E's all-time favorite dessert).

Dinner ocean-side at the Office (the jumbo shrimp cocktail was that evening's winner, with the red snapper a close second).

Then, splitsies for the night cap. The kids went on a solo gelato run, and parents grabbed a round at Bar Esquina sharing the sticky coffee and sampling carajillo cocktails.

By this point, BTW, we're starting to fall in love with Cabo. Cannot beat the weather, walk-ability, safe-ness, the neighborhood/city coexistence with tourisim & resort life. And, abundance of activities and excursions.

Cabo San Lucas | Day 5

Early morning pickleball followed by a beachfront massages for all (60 min for the kiddos, 90 for the adults).

Kids vs. parents pool volleyball and poolside food and drinks all afternoon. Many trips to/from the ocean beach to take in that scenery and to play in the waves.

And, the best dinner of the trip, Italian at Salvatore's comprised of amazing pear salad, the BEST bread, baked rigatoni, lasagne, seafood tortellini, tiramisu... and gin & tonics for all, yes ALL (long story).

Cabo San Lucas | Day 4

Got in a morning workout with S, and took the first ocean dip of the day to cool down right after.

Chartered a private "glass bottom" boat for whale-watching, snorkeling and a pit stop at Lovers and Divorce Beaches (the former on the calm Sea of Cortez, the latter on the wildly powerful Pacific).

Grilled octopus at the Hungry Shark for lunch, followed by a happy hour at Mayden's rooftop (where I got hooked on the caipirinha cocktail).

Ceviche, sea bass and tuna steaks for dinner at Aleta.

Late night hot tub and women's hoops (NCAA tournament UConn & Iowa games) to close down the evening.

Cabo San Lucas | Day 3

Got talked into a 90-minute "time share pitch" breakfast, given it was at Zoëtry, and over an Easter brunch.

Lunch back at Casa Dorado (oceanside sushi & pizza).

Spectacular authentic Mexican dinner at Maria Jiminez (the quesadillas were a massive hit with the kiddos).

Nightcapped at Tres Sirens bar, over live music and the sound of the ocean's waves.

Cabo San Lucas | Day 2

Breakfast in the room, then quickly down to the pool & beach (and spa for steam and cold plunge therapy, for some of us).

Mango margaritas and more fish tacos (and octopus) for lunch beachside at Sandbar.

Afternoon exploration of the Marina (saw our first seal beached, or rather "docked", here) and more tacos for dinner (and our first of many ceviches) at the Saloon pirate bar.

Hawaiian coffee gelato and La Dolcevilla for the night cap.

Cabo San Lucas | Day 1

Casa Dorada on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas was the destination for spring break 2024 on advisory of the Jungs, our travel partners... and, boy, did it deliver.

We left 30 degrees and 6" of snow on the ground in MN arrived in 75 degree Cabo midday Mexico time and lunched beachside at Maydan (fish tacos) on site at upon arrival at our resort.

Spent time in the pool until the Jungs arrived, then hit up Walmart for water, fruit and breakfast supplies.

Dinner down the road at Il Forno (Italian), where the grilled octopus appetizer was the crowd favorite.

Then, raced to the beach to catch our first sunset (6:15ish local time) before turning in a bit burnt already, way full from dinner, and quite overtired... having been up since 4am MN time (2am MX time).
